Then a shimmering orange figure appeared as he stared at the hunter who gently aimed his crossbow at the jack rabbit. The shimmering orange figure was Atwon, who was the god and protector of animals. The figure was actually the goddess Athasia, who, on sight, immediately fell in love with Ajanix. Then she stared down at the dark shaft of a crossbow bolt that was buried in his now bloodied chest. She cried to herself, and the sound of her cries made all the animals come to the woods and stare on at the goddess and the man. The man stopped breathing, and pity fell on Atwon. He turned Ajanix's body into a teal rose, and Athasia declared that rose sacred to her. Then Atwon turned Ajanix to the immortal god of crossbows and archery.
